Mark’s Story

Mark's brief letter moved us so much that we have decided to share it verbatim. His transformation and gratitude are palpable, and we joyfully cry with him when we see this sort of change in people's hearts.

Dear Friend,

I just recently found out I will not have to testify. The other people involved took a deal to plea guilty. This has taken some weight off my shoulder, but I can’t even imagine what the victim’s family and friends are going through. I pray for them all the time and I hope they can find closure and some kind of peace through all this. I cry and think very often about all the what if’s, and wonder why they had to go so far. How could I have been so stupid and go against my conscience and agree to drive them that morning?

I do know one thing: this has opened my eyes. I’ve made a sinner’s promise to God to never get into drugs and alcohol again, and to live a better quality of life that is pleasing to my Creator. Since I’ve formed this awesome relationship with Him, I can hear my conscience or inner voice much louder!

I’m now on the right path, and I’m never going to drift as far away from God as I was before all this! I’m looking forward to lessons 4 and 5; I really enjoy this course.

I’m pleased to inform that you that I have received my N.I.V. Bible, and I thank you very much for sending it! It’s much easier to do the fill in the blank questions.

I thank God for the wonderful work He has sent you to do! When I read your responses to my prayer request and my struggles, I cry joyfully. May God bless you and all who work at Crossroads Prison Ministries.
