“My parents took me to church as a child but when I was older and could decide for myself, I chose not to go. I eventually returned to religion when my life started to get hard.
Growing up in the Catholic church, confession was just a part of going to church. I went to Mass and confessed to the priest all the time but it never made any difference in my life, I didn’t change. I had done bible studies when I was in prison the first time, but it felt like nothing was sinking in. After being released, I just went back to my old life.
Back in jail after 4 years out, I started CPM bible studies again and met regularly with the chaplain. I finally realized through what I was studying, the truth about salvation and forgiveness of sins. I learned I didn’t need to confess to a priest but that Jesus could forgive my sins once and for all. I read the Bible form start to finish and it made all the difference in my life.

I strongly believe that God brought me back to prison the second time so I could learn the truth. Not only to become a better person but to learn how to have a close relationship with God.
The gospel is a part of each and every day for me now. Whenever I skip a day of reading God’s word I can feel that something is missing.
I am so very grateful for the CPM courses and all that I have learned through them and through the letters from my instructors. I love sharing the lessons I have learned with others and being able to encourage people. I am looking forward to all God is going to teach me through the next series of courses.” – Michel, Quebec
I wish you all the best. Thanks so much for the time you invest in your students. The letters and birthday cards mean so much to those of us who sometimes feel so alone. You bring me such joy.
